The World Molecular Imaging Congress was held in Kyoto this year. Siemens brought two original size demonstration machines of their Inveon series of scanners to the show floor. We learned, that a PET scan does not refer to a scanner for our 4 legged loved ones, although in preclinical research mostly mice are being scanned. PET stands for Positron Emission Tomography - Real nuclear medicine!
